Spring Equinox

In the northern hemisphere, the Spring Equinox or vernal equinox is the date when day and night are the same length, twelve hours, and marks the start of spring. It is celebrated across the world in different ways. For example, in Japan, the equinoxes are seen as a time to honour your ancestors. In the southern hemisphere, this is the date of the autumn equinox.
