Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day celebrates the role of mothers and their contributions to society. It was instituted in the USA in the early twentieth century and takes place around the world on various dates in March or May. In the UK it has merged with the Christian festival of Mothering Sunday, originally a date when people visited their ‘mother church’.
