Henry VIII’s birthday

Henry VIII (1491-1547) was a Tudor monarch who reigned from 1509 to 1547 and made himself the head of the Church in England, breaking away from papal authority.  This led to his dissolution of the monasteries and, after his death, to the constitution of the Protestant Church of England. He is famous for marrying six wives in pursuit of having a son.
