Anniversary of the Assassination of John F Kennedy
American President John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) (1917-1963) was assassinated on a visit to Dallas, Texas one year short of completing his first term in office. His assassination, carried out by Lee Harvey Oswald, led to Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson being sworn in as President.
